Effective treatment for Morton's neuroma — nerve pain in the ball of the foot.
Morton's neuroma is a painful condition most frequently resulting from inflammation of the band of fibrous connective tissue along the sole of the foot. Histological evidence indicates this condition involves nerve entrapment. Thickened nerve tissue develops as the body's response to irritation or injury, commonly occurring between the third and fourth toes.
The condition develops in reaction to irritation, injury, or pressure on nerve tissue in the foot. It occurs more frequently in women than men, with diagnoses typically occurring between ages 40–60. Overweight individuals are also at increased risk.
When conservative treatments do not provide adequate relief, surgical intervention may be recommended. The procedure involves removing part of the painful nerve. Patients typically require several days off work for healing and recovery. Dr. Ravaei will discuss the best approach for your specific case.
Dr. Ravaei provides both non-surgical and surgical options for neuroma relief tailored to your specific condition.
